Principal's Message
Friday 8 September 2023 - Term 3 Week 8
Dear Parents and Carers,
It’s been a wonderful term so far with so much happening across all facets of school life. Last week our Father’s Day breakfast, liturgy and stall were wonderful examples of the school community coming together to celebrate some of the special people that make up St Augustine’s School.
Next week we prepare for our socials. Our students love the opportunity to dance and enjoy each other's company in a fun environment. A reminder to our Year 5 and 6 families that whilst the social is on for the Year 5 and 6 students there will be a parent education session run by Chris Hudson up in the top area. This is a catered event so please RSVP as soon as possible using the link on the flyer below. A big thank you to the Parent Assembly for sponsoring this event.
I refer you to the Child Safeguarding page on the Lismore Diocese’s website (link below). This page aims to unpack the Child Safe statement, and our staff will be working on the Child Safe Standards to ensure that we offer the highest levels of child safety at our school.

A reminder that the last day of school for students will be Thursday 21 of September with Friday, 22 September being a Staff Development Day.
Kind regards,
Naomi Loader
Acting Principal

Father’s Day
What a wonderful celebration of fathers and father figures we had last Friday. So many dads came to have breakfast with their children and many stayed on for a beautiful liturgy thanking God for the blessing that fathers are to us. After our liturgy, we all had fun dancing the ‘Nutbush’ together.

They listened to a variety of songs and hymns and responded to them through art and poetry.

Approaching Teenage Years - Parent education session
Dear Parents and Carers of Years 5 and 6, each year, the Parent Assembly donates money towards a parent or student education initiative. Our parent assembly representatives this year are Amy O’Brien and Lauren Oppy. They have met with the Parent Forum and decided to target this year’s initiative towards our Year 5 and 6 parents as their children prepare to move into high school and the teenage years. We have scheduled the parent education session whilst the Year 5/6 social is on. It will be held in the top assembly area of the school on Thursday, 14 September (Week 9) at 6:30pm. We would love to see you all there for what should be a very informative presentation. The Parent Assembly will also cater for the evening, and child minding will be available in the LARC. Please RSVP using the link on the flyer attached or here.
